GPT-6 Comes to Free ChatGPT With Interactive Answers
OpenAI rolls out GPT-6 to every ChatGPT user, free plans included, with Intelligent UI: answers with charts, maps, buttons and small calculators.

On 7 October OpenAI started rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT for everyone, free users included. Until now GPT-6 models were for paying customers only; now they reach the more than 1.2 billion people who, according to OpenAI, use ChatGPT every week.

Both are tuned for everyday conversation. The rollout is global and gradual, so it may take a few days to reach you. OpenAI does not mention any EU restriction. On Enterprise it depends on admin settings.
Intelligent UI: answers you can touch
The big change is not just the model but how it answers. With Intelligent UI, ChatGPT decides for each question whether text is enough or whether to add charts, buttons, forms, maps or small interactive tools. Some examples OpenAI shows:
- A recipe with a quantity calculator for the number of people and a prep-time checklist.
- The stops on a road trip on a map.
- Hard concepts explained with visuals you can play with: the central limit theorem, GDP or the Monty Hall problem.
- Tools built on the spot: a bill splitter, a retirement savings calculator or a retro game.
For learning this matters: instead of reading an explanation, you can move a slider and see what happens.
Faster
According to OpenAI, for questions that need web search it starts answering 44% sooner than the previous model. The model can also start answering while it keeps thinking, instead of thinking everything through first. OpenAI also says it is more resistant to attempts to get around its safeguards, especially ones that adapt over several messages.
This change only affects the chat: the models behind ChatGPT Work and Codex are not changing.

- If you use ChatGPT for free, you will get better, more visual answers without paying.
- If you are studying, ask it explicitly to show you with a chart or an interactive example. Keep checking important facts: a new model can still hallucinate.
